Diploma in Animation Engineering (DAE)

Salient Features:

DAE offers a dynamic career in the explosively expanding industry of computer animation – used extensively
in ads / television / film, animated simulation rides and walkthroughs, computer games, and digital environments. This program offers a unique
blend of digital and analog art skills, as well as an understanding of the creative and technical processes involved. In this course
students acquire solid art foundations with drawing, storytelling and design for animation. They’ll learn to draw, visualize, and
effectively apply colour & composition principles. With the mastery of character drawing, principles of animation, texture mapping,
motion capture and animation, students translate traditional art skills into the modeling of characters, objects, scenes, and virtual worlds.
Skills in audio and video production and cinematography are also covered so that story continuity and believability become the hallmarks
of student productions.

Admission Procedure:

Students will be admitted to the course on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Test during which their drawing skills
and creative abilities will be tested. To be shortlisted for the test, the students are required to fill in the application form
(available with the prospectus) and submit it to us.

Eligibility Criteria:

Freehand drawing and sketching skills will be an added advantage along with a creative bent of mind.

Course Contents:

1 st Semester: Fine Art, Visual Design & Creative Animation

Appreciate art and drawing for Animation. Conceptualize and Visualize Story and Scenes. At the end of this semester, one can be an Inbetweener and start giving creative services to 2D animation studios as entry-level animator.

2 nd Semester: el & Digital Animation

At the end of this semester, the student will be full-fledged Digital 2D Animator with the complete technical know how of the animation
process. He will have the working knowledge of all the departments and processes of 2D Animation Studio.

3 rd Semester: 2D Animation Show Reel

On completion of this semester, the students grow as a digital 2D animator with confidence of choosing the specialization area to
work on.

4 th Semester: 3D Animation & Visual Fx

On completion of this semester, student will be eligible to enter directly into the workforce of companies in the field Animation,
Film, Interactive Game Design, Product Design, Architectural Design and various other avenues of 3D Animation & Digital Video Production.

5 th Semester: Portfolio Development – Demo Reel

The student will understand the basic functioning of a Production House and also develop technical skills and confidence.
Understanding of production techniques and working on tight schedules will be a part of the portfolio.
